WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Senior Fund Accountant (SFA), you will be part of our fund team in our Singapore office. You will be responsible for a portfolio of predominantly hedge funds, private equity and venture capital fund structures, overseeing our growing fund client portfolio's administrative, financial and reporting responsibilities.
The SFA is expected to continuously develop personally and professionally and promote our client centric operating model, delivering added value to our fund services and contributing to the further growth of the Singapore office.
Main responsibilities are:
- Managing a client portfolio and being the first point of contact for fund and SPV clients, lawyers and tax advisors regarding all financial matters;
- Client Relationship Management – maintain and develop relationships with clients and contribute to prospect and client meetings;
- Fund accounting and transfer agency, including preparation of NAV reports and financial statements, perform client and investor KYC;
- Preparation of GST and tax compliance filings in collaboration with external advisors;
- Preparation and review of statutory annual financial statements (US GAAP/ IFRS/ SFRS);
- Managing the audit process and resolving audit queries to ensure that audits are completed on time and within budget;
- Management of bank accounts and execution of client payments;
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of administrative records;
- Mentor, train, and motivate junior fund accountants and act as a sounding board;
- Perform miscellaneous tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements;
- Actively share financial and accounting knowledge with global offices.
HOW DO YOU FIT INTO THE TEAM?
As an SFA, you work closely with team members of various levels and can manage ad-hoc activities, intensive client contacts and your daily work. In this position, you need to prioritize what is important, have a hands-on and independent work mentality and be able to deal with stress. Having a helicopter view is essential since you are responsible for financial processes and reporting deadlines for a portfolio of clients and structures. You are proactive, know what you are capable of and possess good communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications for this profile:
- Residing in Singapore;
- Recent and a minimum of 3-5 years experience as (Senior) Fund Accountant/Administrator;
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or an equivalent;
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP/ SFRS);
- Experience with Paxus (fund accounting and administration system) preferred;
- Team player;
- Comfortable with client communication;
- Familiarity with local compliance framework;
- Chartered Accountant accreditation or equivalent is a plus;
- Fluent in English (both orally and in writing.
